September 2023 saw TICAVE produce a rehearsed reading of Mark Norfolk's play Behind The Hoe which was based on Baltasar Lopes' exquisite novel Chiquinho, published in 1947. The play was translated into Kreole by Abeline Lopes and presented in this language by Sal Based actors, Ivanildo Pinto, Sally Delgado, Victor Silva, Suely Fortes, Fernando Gonçalves, Zuleica Santos, Rafael Silva and Bernardino T Fernandes at TICAVE in Santa Maria.
